Dr. Jones specializes in structural models of personality pathology, with particular emphasis on object relations theory, identity diffusion, defensive organization, and aggression. His clinical and scholarly work integrates contemporary psychodynamic approaches, including Transference-Focused Psychotherapy (TFP), relational theory, and dimensional models of personality structure such as the DSM-5-TR Alternative Model for Personality Disorders and the Psychodynamic Diagnostic Manual (PDM-2). .
His current scholarly interests include the refinement of structural approaches to personality diagnosis, the role of countertransference in contemporary psychodynamic technique, and the translation of personality theory for broader public audiences.
